TDS Expands Management Team with New VP Operations

Mr. Chris Heise has joined the company in the newly created role of Vice President of Operations.  Bringing his 20 years of electrical, service and operational experience to TDS, Mr. Heise will have overall responsibility for field services and equipment operations including project P&L and management, field personnel management, safety, and field recruiting.  

Most recently, Mr. Heise was VP of Operations for Additech, a fuel additive company. Previous to that, he held various positions in manufacturing, sales operations management and project management for companies in the electrical industry including Schneider Electric, Powell Industries and his family-owned electrical construction business.  Mr. Heise holds a Master Electrical Contractor’s certification and an Electrical Engineering degree and MBA both from the University of South Carolina.

A 27 year industry veteran in electrical system construction, maintenance and testing, asset management, and switchgear manufacturing, Mr. Blanchard most recently spent 14 years at Powell Electrical Systems Inc. in roles including special equipment application sales, Director of Service Sales, Product Line Leader for Monitoring and Diagnostics equipment and services. Previous to that, he held various positions with construction and service companies including Electrical Testing Technician, General Management, Sales and Sales Management.

Meet the TDS Team: BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE, DOUGLAS TOMISON

At TDS, we know that when it comes to safety, who you work with is important. We believe in the power of our people and their ability to provide innovative and tailored solutions for customers. So periodically, we like you to get to know them a bit better. In this edition of Meet #TeamTDS, we meet Douglas Tomison, a BD guy with field services background and continued integrative work.

1.) Tell us a little bit about yourself. 

I am married to a beautiful Chilean woman and we have three daughters 23, 21, and 15. I spent twelve years in the Navy as a nuclear power plant operator in submarines and at land based prototypes that are used to train new operators. I am from a small town in Northern California, just south of Sacramento and I moved to Texas in 2013 to commission and startup a 50 MW biomass plant near Beaumont, TX. After I left the Navy, I worked as a Power Plant Manager at several power plants in which they combusted various fuels including biomass, trash, and whole tires.

2.) What do you like to do for fun?

DT: My hobbies are carpentry and wood working as well as home improvement projects

3.) Tell us about your role at TDS.

I am a Business Development Executive but I also assist in operations tasks such as site visits for proposals and large commissioning projects.

4.) What do you like best about working at TDS?

I like that it is an established company but is similar to a young company that is growing and deciding who it is. It is interesting to see the changes that are happening now that will determine who we are in the future.

5.) Tell us something people might not know about you.

Hmmmm….Well, I am an ordained Southern Baptist minister and I am sure that some people will be surprised!

6.) What's important to you?

Excellence! I believe that if you do something it should be done correctly. Everything that I do, I do for my family and my family deserves the best!

Here at TDS we take great pride in our team. We know that trust is important and we want you to know our team like your own. We are introducing our monthly "Meet the TDS Team" feature.  Safety is our #1 priority at TDS and so we are introducing our new National Safety Manager first.  Meet Mr. Patrick Gardner!

1.     Tell us a little bit about yourself. 

I have been an Environmental Health & Safety professional for over 23 years. I have worked in several different industries such as: Electrical Contracting, Oil/Gas and Pipeline, Midstream, and Rail Car manufacturing. I received my Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO) certification in both General Industry and Construction. My wife and myself have 6 children between the two of us. 

2.     What do you like to do for fun? 

My hobbies are playing golf and fishing whenever possible. 

3.     Tell us something interesting about yourself that people might not know. 

I played baseball at Blinn College and was drafted to the Atlanta Braves organization with their Double A ball team, which at that time was the Greenville Braves. 

4.     What’s your best safety tip? 

Ask yourself why it’s important to leave work the same way you came in today? Is it because your children could be affected by my poor decision that day or will my wife have to be both mommy and daddy? The answer is simply YES.

TDS Appoints Frank Durant as VP Business Development

Ft. Worth, TX - December 10, 2018 - TDS is pleased to announce that Frank Durant has joined the company in the newly created position of Vice President of Business Development. 

Frank is a 38+ year industry veteran who is highly experienced in the business and operational aspects of providing best in class service and solutions to power generation clients. He is well-versed in all areas of the power distribution industry and is recognized as an expert in disaster recovery projects, managing projects during Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, as well as 100 years’ flood events.  Frank comes to our growing TDS team from the Square D division of Schneider Electric where he was the Director of Operations Development and Risk Management, focused on conflict resolution. Prior to that, he worked extensively as a project manager for companies including Powell Industries, Entergy, Consolidated Electrical Distributors, Eaton, RS Services, Major Retailers and the US Corp of Engineers.

Frank has built a decades-long leadership career in our industry and understands the unique needs and requirements of power generation industry asset owners, as well as the challenges and opportunities on the service provider side. Frank is incredibly knowledgeable about our industry and has consistently delivered projects achieving the goals of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency, while prioritizing safety above all else.

Ft. Worth, TX - November 26, 2018 - Darrell Copen has joined TDS as our Director of Sales. Darrell is an experienced sales leader that is skilled in complex account management, services and solutions, project management and the development of C-level executive relationships. He excels at establishing strong internal and external long-term relationships that deliver business goals and drive profitability. A proven business development professional, Darrell is a manager who energizes a sales organization and drives sustainable business growth.

Most recently, Darrell was the National Services Sales Manager for Solomon Corporation. Prior to that, he was Regional Service Sales Manager (Dallas, Texas) for Schneider Electric US Services for 18 years.  Darrell's educational, professional and civic pursuits include college courses in Electrical Theory & Design, his credentials as a Licensed Electrician in the State of Texas for over 35 years as well as a Board Member of the Colleyville, TX Lions Club and Colleyville Police Citizens Academy C.O.P.F

Lisa Bridges has joined TDS as the company's new Chief Financial Officer.

Lisa comes to TDS with nearly 30 years’ experience in the services industry having held varying levels of leadership in finance, accounting, and business development and operations. She has a demonstrated track record of improving shareholder and enterprise value through financial resource development and management, service delivery excellence and process sustainability, long-term customer commitment, and employee satisfaction. 

Lisa has a B.S. in Accounting from Husson College, a M.S. in Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas and is a Certified Public Accountant.
